Privacy policy

Musse Buddy has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. Missions, memory and your buddy's look are stored on your iPhone. The app can optionally send a request to the developer's AI server, and speech recognition and some permissions touch iOS services. This page says exactly where.

What does Musse Buddy store on my phone?

Your missions, the short memory notes, your buddy's name, character and outfit, pet state, settings and saved notes live on the device. A snapshot of your buddy and mission counts is also written to storage shared with the app's widgets (an App Group), so that widgets can draw without the network. Nothing in that snapshot is sent anywhere.

You can remove single memory notes on the What Buddy knows screen. Me, Settings, Reset app removes all of it.

Do you collect personal data or track me?

No. The app declares no tracking and no collected data types in its privacy manifest, contains no advertising or analytics SDK and does not ask you to sign in. We do not sell data or use it for advertising.

What about the optional AI server?

By default the app understands requests with a parser built into the phone. The app can also be configured with the address of an AI server that the developer operates, which gives better readings of free-form requests. When that address is set, each request sends the text you typed or dictated, your language, the time zone and up to 20 short memory notes to that server. Requests are signed with an Apple App Attest key so that the server can tell real app installs from scripts.

The server does not save your request text or memory notes. It keeps a short usage log with a hash of a random device identifier, the endpoint, the kind of mission, the response time and whether it succeeded, and deletes entries after 30 days. If the server does not answer, the app silently uses the local parser. As of this writing no production server is announced, so the TestFlight build may run fully on the phone.

How are the microphone and speech handled?

Buddy listens only while you hold the talk button. The app does not record or store audio. Turning speech into text is done by Apple's iOS speech recognition service, not by the developer. The app does not force on-device mode, so iOS may send the audio to Apple's servers under Apple's own privacy terms. You can always type instead.

Which other permissions can the app use?

Texts and email open as drafts in Messages or your mail app, and the web opens as search links. After that, the policies of those apps and sites apply.

  • Calendar: adds events only for missions you ask for, such as plans, bookings and goals.
  • Contacts: looks up a person only when you ask to call or message them. Contacts stay on the iPhone.
  • Notifications: local reminders scheduled on the device, not push messages.
  • Photos: the app does not access your photo library. iOS shows a notice because of a system component.

Is data shared with third parties?

Buddy+ purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not share missions, memory or contacts with anyone. If you ask for something on the web, the site you open sees your visit as with any browser.

Children, changes and contact

The app is not designed for collecting data from children, and it collects none. If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will change. Questions go through the App Support link on the app's App Store page, or in the app under Me, then Settings. See also support and terms.

Frequently asked questions

Does Musse Buddy need an account?

No. You never sign in.

Is my voice recorded?

The app does not record or store audio. Apple's iOS speech recognition turns it into text, and iOS may process it on Apple's servers. You can type instead.

Can I delete everything?

Yes. Me, Settings, Reset app wipes all app data from the iPhone.

Does the app show ads?

No. There are no ads and no tracking.
